LBF 2014 Brochure: Corrections

The programme brochures for this year’s festival are now available. However, we have picked up a couple of mistakes in them.

First of all, the poetry workshop is shown on the wrong date: it should be under Saturday 1 November not Friday 31 October. However, all other details for that event are correct.

Secondly, the time given for Doug Johnstone and Helen Fitzgerald is incorrect. The event begins at 3:45 PM, not 1:30 PM as shown on the programme. All other details for that event are also correct.

Our programme page for this year’s festival is up to date and accurate. Tickets are available from the usual outlets.

LBF 2014 is on its way!

“Now where,” we hear you ask, “is the programme for this year’s Linlithgow Book Festival?” Well, dear reader, ask no more, for it is now online here. We will be filling out the pricing and other details soon, so watch the page, but we’re delighted to be bringing you a mix of mainstream fiction, sci fi — including Una McCormack, writer of several Doctor Who novels and audio adventures — poetry and non-fiction.

Booking is through the usual channels. What takes your fancy this year?

Renita Boyle Event — Confirmation of Time

Gimp D & G

Storyteller extraordinaire, Renita Boyle

Please note that the printed programme, bookmarks and tickets for this year’s festival erroneously show Renita Boyle’s storytelling event as starting at 11am. The event will begin at 2pm, as advertised here on the website.

We apologise for any inconvenience this error may cause. Tickets are still available for the event. As those who have seen her in action before know well, Renita is not to be missed, so hurry and get yours!

All the reading slots in the open mike event on Saturday at this year’s Linlithgow Book Festival have now been taken. We will operate a reserve list for anyone else who’s interested in reading, in case other readers can’t make it.

Of course, anyone is still more than welcome to come along and listen — after all, what’s a reading without an audience? — and, as several of the readers have read at our open mike events in previous years, we know you’re guaranteed a good evening.

Readers will be contacted soon with details of the evening.

Kona Macphee replaces Rodge Glass in Gutter Event

Kona Macphee

Owing to unforeseen circumstances, Rodge Glass is unable to appear at the Gutter event at this year’s Linlithgow Book Festival. However, we have a fantastic replacement in the poet Kona Macphee, whom we are delighted to welcome to LBF for the first time. Kona joins novelist Doug Johnstone and poets Patricia Ace and Andrew Philip  to bring us a lively and varied evening of new writing.
